Fashion forward women are seeing things in black and white this
season. Bold, retro black-and-white stripes have made a freewheeling comeback
on the ramp, and Bollywood’s top girls — Deepika Padukone, Priyanka
Chopra and Kanagana Ranaut —
are rocking the trend with élan.
Designers give the classic style a big thumbs-up. “This trend is
a major hit globally and evokes a strong European connect,” says designer
Suneet Varma. Delhi’s own fashionistas, too, are enthusiastically lapping up
the trend.
Shilpi Dhar of fashion brand Giovani says,
“Black and white stripes are very eye-catching, and also clean, crisp and
classic. Our black-and-white striped tops, dresses and jumpsuits are flying off
the shelves this season.”
