Both these not-so-size-zero ladies seem to favour Ranna Gill, but we can't say either of them made this dress work. My oh my was the black and neutral shade combo a hit at the 2013 Cannes red carpet with our Bollywood divas! India’s most popular fashionista Sonam Kapoor wore a stunning creation by designer Shehla Khan with black detailing. The intricate work was also seen on our global star Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s Elie Saab gown. And the shades were also donned by sex symbol Mallika Sherawat in a dress by Dolce & Gabbana.

Understand your facial profile

Jhumkas can enhance one’s look if worn correctly according to the facial profile. For a person with round face it is best to go for something that is longer and more slender and has a lower balloon like roundness. While girls’ with thinner and longer face should go for the round or circular ones, with lots of motifs and appliqués. The asymmetrical bell jhumkas would look particularly well on round faces.

It is always best to choose a jhumka according to the dress and the occasion. Variety of sizes and shapes of jhumkas are available in the market like the hoops, half moon, the umbrella or casual trinket. A heavily studded jhumka paired with jeans and t-shirt will be much of a fashion faux-pas as a small jhumka paired with a gorgeous saree.Half split loops will match perfectly with a cool kurta top, while simple hoops will look good with jeans and top.

Choose according to the occasion

If it is a night party choose a jhumka with lots of bling, but for a simple office party go for a simple jhumka with some arts and appliqués. Jhumkas are available in every possible shade, colour and designs; it won’t be difficult to find one according to your choice. Jhumkas are very versatile. You don’t always need to carry it the way everybody does. You can get creative and try something new like using it as a maang tika or even as hangings for your bangles.
