Imagine bumping into another person wearing the same dress as you at an event? You may live with it, but now imagine the same scene with two celebrities. Awkward!

It's never pretty to be caught in public wearing the same outfit as someone else. A classic example of how too much of a designer can be a bad thing is evident here. Both these not-so-size-zero ladies seem to favour Ranna Gill, but we can't say either of them made this dress work. Huma Quereshi's simple hairband-y look saved her from being at the bottom of the barrel, while Poonam Dhillon's over-accessorizing as always, had her volunteer for a fashion police lineup.

Different designers but the same idea. It was red lace for both Evelyn Sharma and Deepika Padukone. We all know who the clear winner here is. It's Deepika, duh! Evelyn's creased gown was a bit of a lacklustre moment for us.

Deepika Padukone dons a daring Prabal Gurung number for a special night out. The cutout dress is almost molded onto her.Zoe Saldana favours the same designer but somehow makes the bold dress look rather bland.

Pick the right wedding shoes

                                  

1. Comfort is key: Wedding shoes should be functional and practical. Ask yourself: Can I walk in these shoes? Will they be comfortable all day? Practice walking in your shoes before the big day. 

2. Take your dress into account: buy shoes that go with your wedding dress. Make sure you purchase your shoes before your first dress fitting so the hem can be the perfect length. If your dress is short, then go for a show stealing embellishment at the back of your shoes.

3. Pick the right heel-height: Choose a heel height that you are comfortable with and you are used to wearing. If you normally wear kitten heels, stay with those heels, or if you love wearing platform heels, pick them for the wedding too. However, you will also need to consider the height of your groom, otherwise your wedding photos may not come out as desired.

4. Theme your shoes: Match the colour of your shoes to your bridesmaid’s dresses or your wedding flowers. Your photos will look special with colour coordination and certain colours such as fuchsia pink and tiffany blue will really make them stand out. Also, you could get your shoes matched with those of the groom. The bride and groom can also wear matching shoes.

Zebra chic rules

Fashion forward women are seeing things in black and white this season. Bold, retro black-and-white stripes have made a freewheeling comeback on the ramp, and Bollywood’s top girls — Deepika Padukone, Priyanka Chopra and Kanagana Ranaut — are rocking the trend with élan.

Designers give the classic style a big thumbs-up. “This trend is a major hit globally and evokes a strong European connect,” says designer Suneet Varma. Delhi’s own fashionistas, too, are enthusiastically lapping up the trend.

Shilpi Dhar of fashion brand Giovani says, “Black and white stripes are very eye-catching, and also clean, crisp and classic. Our black-and-white striped tops, dresses and jumpsuits are flying off the shelves this season.”

Stylists say the key to rock this look is to keep it simple and steer clear of over-accessorising
