Ombre nails!!

This nail design is neither  exceptional, nor extremely difficult to do, but it is very cute. There are a lot of options on how to do it. Basically you will only need two matching colours – red and yellow in this case and a makeup applicator or a piece of sponge.

For example you can paint the colours onto the makeup applicator  as shown on the picture and then apply  the design on your nails.

Another option is to sponge the red first and then use a clean sponge to apply the yellow over it.

Make sure the sponge is wet (but not soaked), because this will make the application easier and will prevent the nail polish from getting dry.

When you finish your Ombre nails, use a top coat to finish the nails and let it dry.

Tarnished Copper Nails!!

Have you seen the old copper statues and monuments, which went green, because of the weather conditions? Have you ever thought of a nail design in such style? If it seems impossible to you, I can assure you there is a way. All you need is proper nail polish colours a piece of sponge and a small dessert spoon. So, let`s start.

Find a copper-coloured nail polish and a variety of minty green and blue shades.

Paint the back of the spoon with the “copper”. Use the sponge to apply the other shades over the spoon (as shown on the picture). Use a slightly wet sponge to do so.

Take a different wet sponge to apply the mixture on the nails with gentle taps. Add as many layers as necessary. When you are done, use a top coat with a matte effect for best results.

Don`t forget to take a picture with a statue, while wearing this nail design – it will be quite fun!

Take the braid and put it over the hair to the other side, thus making it look like a simple hair band.
You can add a simple ribbon or braided band to accentuate the look.
For the rest of the hair, shake the curls out, and avoid over styling or keeping them too messy.

Wear it: For an evening out with friends, a semi-formal gathering and even a high-octane bash.

2. Clay pack
A must-try during the rains would be the ‘Truly Matte Purifying’ facial from Mogok at Clarins that calms and decongests skin leaving it fresh and luminous. It also gives the skin an oil-balance. There are also a variety of body exfoliation treatments available at several spas that renew the epidermal layer of the body leading way to a glowing, soft skin.

How to: 1 look, 3 ways!

SHOPPERS LIFESTYLE

The test of true style rests in a woman’s ability to style a simple pair of jeans and a white t-shirt. And in this article we tell you how just a little bit of creative accessorizing can help you get three different looks.

SHOPPERS LIFESTYLE

#1 Team a well tailored blazer with a pair of bright red pointed tow heels. Keep the jewellery light and sophisticated to sport this in an environment that implements a “smart casual” dress code.

SHOPPERS LIFESTYLE

#2 Show off your layering skills by donning a denim shirt and a leather jacket. This is most apt for the season that is to come. Add your personal touch with print/colour in your shoes. Embellished earrings and a statement necklace is the way forward for this look.

#3 Utilise your memories of the grunge era; Layer with a plaid shirt, better yet, tie it around your waist. Go all out and wear a head accessory to add an ethnic edge.

Monsoon makeup for girls

Monsoon certainly isn’t the right time for cakey makeup and dark colours. What you really need is a makeup routine that is easy to reapply (humidity isn’t makeup’s best friend), doesn’t clog your pores (we have enough stickiness going around already) and keeps you looking dewy fresh all day long.

Face

SHOPPERS LIFESTYLE

Give the old foundation a skip and make do with a water-based sunscreen as a base if you have clear skin. If you must cover up blemishes and even out your skin tone, pick a foundation that is light and oil-free or just dab on some concealer over problem spots. Powder-based or mineral makeup works best in sweaty weather. Use a toner to freshen up your skin and tighten the pores. Nude is the look of the season but don’t keep yourself from experimenting with colour around your eyes. Use loose powders in different tones to help your makeup stay put for longer.

Even the most flawless complexions can fall prey to pimples and blemishes if not appropriately pampered. Cleanse your face with a soap-free face wash at least twice a day, especially before turning in at night. Stock up on some facial wipes for those moments on the go.

Eyes and Lips

SHOPPERS LIFESTYLE

For a casual daytime look, primp your peepers with a generous layer of kohl or black eyeliner (waterproof, of course) and go easy on the lips with a layer of tinted balm or a matte lipstick in nude. Steer clear of goopy glosses and dramatic shades like red, chocolate and berry. Orange is indeed the hue of the season.

Give mascara a miss altogether or use a single layer of a waterproof one - just enough to make your eyes pop. Bright eye-liners and eye shadows in turquoise, teal, emerald, olive green and fuchsia are hot right now.

Hair

SHOPPERS LIFESTYLE

Humidity can really cause a nightmare on your head with all that frizz and fly-aways. Keeping your hair squeaky clean and perfectly conditioned is half the battle won. Invest in some good quality serum to keep your mane smooth, silky and lustrous. Keep it stylish in neat, pulled-back dos. High ponytails and chignons look fetching any time of the day and you can always throw in some accessories to glam them up for an evening out.

Carry these in your bag always, to look fresh ‘n’ pretty through the monsoon:
- Non-alcoholic face wipes to wipe away grime
- Toner
- Oil-free moisturizing sunscreen
- Water proof kohl or eyeliner
- Sheer lip tint
- Hair serum to tame that frizz
- Scrunchies and headbands
When the outdoors look dull and dreary, pull out those hot pinks, lime greens, sunny yellows, and cool aquas from your wardrobe.

Get the look: Neon + Neutral

Turn a dull day into a bright one by clubbing the best of neon and neutral.

SHOPPERS LIFESTYLE

Day look
- Team a simple neon skirt with a neutral collar top. Keep the silhouettes simple.
- A pair of wedges will be just the right thing.
- Try to be minimal when it comes to accessories, a simple necklace works great.

SHOPPERS LIFESTYLE

Night look
- Choose an elaborate patterned neon skirt with sequins or a lace and team it up with a one shoulder neutral or white top.
- You can make the entire look more gorgeous by adding a nice neckpiece.
- Experiment with animal print heels or flats to complete the look.

Fashion for your feet: Pumps!

SHOPPERS LIFESTYLE

Style notes
- Pointed pumps can dress-up a casual outfit and take you from day to night.

- Versatile as they are, they go with everything from dresses and skirts to trousers, shorts and even boyfriend jeans.

- Add some fun by experimenting with colours and embellishments, such as studs and bows.

- For a street-style look, team up pointed ladylike heels with a tough leather jacket, a tee and distressed jeans.

Flower power

Adding just a little bit of quirky floral accessories to your wardrobe can make a world of difference.

SHOPPERS LIFESTYLE

Style notes

- Play around with floral prints not only on clothes but also on accessories.
- Printed scarves, sunglasses and floral clips are perfect accessories for the summer.
- Don’t overdo it by clashing prints; keep your outfit plain and clutter-free if you are wearing floral accessories.
